The story
How it went.
The Bella Signora is a classic Venetian water taxi from 1936, built by the Langeberg yard in Leeuwarden. This fully restored boat keeps her authentic character, but under the hood she has been completely renewed with a modern electric drive from Green Marine.
For this project, a 22.5 kW Green Marine electric motor was chosen, coupled to a 30 kWh battery pack. This configuration delivers instantly available power, so the boat accelerates smoothly and in a controlled way. The electric drive runs completely vibration-free and silent, which greatly improves comfort on board.
Unlike traditional combustion engines, this installation requires minimal maintenance and produces no emissions. That makes the Bella Signora not only more sustainable, but also more efficient to run. The combination of power, efficiency and reliability lets this classic boat meet the demands of modern boating.
The silent operation of the electric motor changes the entire experience on the water. Noise makes way for calm, so the focus is entirely on the surroundings and the comfort on board. That makes the boat ideally suited for relaxed trips, luxury arrangements and use in urban waters where emission-free boating is becoming ever more important.
With this electrification, Green Marine shows how existing, classic boats can successfully be converted to a future-proof drivetrain. Without compromising on character, performance or experience.
