The story
How it went.
The Vedette Premium Line was developed in collaboration with MARIN and features a completely new hull shape. The underwater hull combines the characteristics of a displacement vessel with those of a semi-planing one. As a result, the Jackpot can reach relatively higher speeds while retaining its comfort during calm cruising.
For propulsion, a hybrid system was chosen with two 17.5 kW electric motors from Green Marine, a 50 kWh battery pack and two 230 hp diesel engines. This allows the Jackpot to sail comfortably and silently on electric power, while the diesel engines are available whenever more power is needed.
The hull is also designed for optimal performance. The spray rail cuts sharply through the water and the hull flattens progressively towards the stern. In addition, the Premium Line features an active trim plate, which prevents the stern from digging in at higher speeds and keeps the boat running flatter through the water.
The combination of the innovative underwater hull and hybrid propulsion makes the Jackpot versatile: silent and comfortable electric sailing at low speed, with the option of switching to powerful propulsion whenever desired.
